Domain Names

All computers on the Internet have a unique number called an IP Address. A domain name is an alias for that numeric IP address, which allows you to easily remember a website or e-mail address, such as www.your-name.com.

There are three different domain name types that are available through Nubble Designs.

• .com refers to commercial business sites
• .org refers to non-profit organizations
• .net refers to Internet-related businesses

Often your domain name will reflect your business or something about you. For example, if you are creating a business website, you might want to have the domain name www.your-business-name.com. If you are creating a personal website to reflect your lifestyle, you might want to find a domain name that describes your hobbies or interests. There are no absolute rules in creating a domain name, so find something with which your clients or friends will associate.
